Welcome to Worthington Pre-School

Our pre-school was first established in January 2002 by a group of enthusiastic parents who wanted to create a quality early years setting in the community for local children.  The pre-school has grown since then and now operates five days a week in a purpose-built unit within the grounds of Worthington Primary School.  We have a great relationship with the school and enjoy the use of their outdoor facilities as well as having our own dedicated garden.

We understand that choosing the right nursery or pre-school for your child can be a difficult and emotional decision which is why we do our best to make it as easy as possible for you.

Our philosophy is to create a friendly, family like atmosphere so that our children feel relaxed and able to freely express themselves.

As a registered charity run by a committee of local volunteers, including parents of children in pre-school, we understand your needs.  That is why we strive to provide high quality affordable care and education so that our children get the best possible start in their educational life.

We know the cost of childcare can be prohibitive and that is why we keep our fees low and help parents to access free funding for their child.

 We are Ofsted regulated and our last inspection was carried out in September 2018.  The inspection rated us as ‘Good’ in all areas.  A copy of the latest inspection report can be found here.

Our aims and objectives are clear and focused on allowing every child in our care to achieve their potential.  We aim to:

• Provide high quality care and education for children below statutory school age
• Embrace the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and use it as the basis of our approach to early learning and development
• Work in partnership with parents to help children to learn and develop
• Ensure that each child is in a safe and stimulating environment
• Offer children and their parents a service that promotes quality and values diversity

Our staff are friendly, dedicated, enthusiastic and genuinely care about delivering the best quality of care for our children.  They work with parents to tailor their child’s care to ensure that each child feels safe and able to play and learn.  Our staff also organise fun activities for the children and parents such as the pre-school sports day and festive activities.
